Edward Lowry Newman, Jr., age 71, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born July 31, 1944 in Bruce, MS to the late Edward Lowry Newman, Sr. and Mary Esther Fly Newman. Ed was a member of Timothy Baptist Church in Oklahoma and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ed enjoyed working, gardening, horses, running his sawmill and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Calhoun County, MS. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm with Bro. Fred Eakes officiating. Ed is survived by his wife, Brenda Lantrip Newman of Water Valley, MS; his daughters, Michelle (Glenn) Dickerson of Hurley, MS and Cindi Newman of Water Valley, MS; his sons, Michael (Tricia) Newman of Starkville, MS and Elton (Acacia) Newman of Water Valley, MS; his sisters, Ellen Russell and Debbie Newman both of Water Valley, MS and Rebekah Newman Sanders of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren, Erin Livingston, Ben Newman, Mary Meghan Dickerson, Seth Dickerson, Brandt Dickerson, Easton Newman, Olivia Dewberry, Cambria Sumner and Robbie Anderson; and one great grandchild, Genevieve Livingston. The family requests that memorials be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 1386 Hwy 32, Water Valley, MS 38965. | ||||
