Rose Cusson, 93, died peacefully and unexpectedly in her home on January 25, 2015. She was the widow of the late Edgar J. Cusson after 64 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving daughters Pam Shea (Kevin Shea) of Dartmouth and Carol Wagner (Mark Wagner) of Charleston, SC; her 3 granddaughters Kristen Shea, Katie Shea King (Jon King), and Kara Shea (Andrew Martin); and her grandson Cayden Wagner; as well as 2 great grandsons Mason and Chayse.
Rose was born in Taunton, MA and lived the majority of her life in Dartmouth. She was a lover of nature and animals. She adored her family and enjoyed being involved in their daily lives. Her favorite activities were cooking, shopping, taking walks in the woods, and spending time on the beach. She was ahead of her time as an advocate since the 1950’s of healthy diet and lifestyle and its impact on health. She helped raise generations who would look to her for her wisdom, patience, and sense of humor. In her later years, she suffered from dementia but remained loving and caring. Her family will always remember her kindness, and will miss her smile and gentle ways. Special thanks to her granddaughters Katie/husband Jon King and Kristen Shea, and caretakers Maria Day, Glaysa Aguiar, and Jennifer Vernon during the last year of her life.
A memorial gathering will be held on June 6, 2015 at 1 pm at the home of Pam Shea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rose Cusson to the Division of Neonatology, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children’s Hospital Fund, Charleston, South Carolina.
