Katie Turner Sprouse, age 82, died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born September 28, 1932 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late John and Ruth Eubanks Turner. Katie was a retired housekeeper for the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS, and a member of the Red Hats Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and canning vegetables and jelly, fishing, working in her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Pine Crest Memorial Gardens in Yalobusha County, MS with Willie Pullen, Joe Pullen, Kenny Goolsby, Chuck Turner, Ronnie Eubanks, Lee Turner, Jerry Sprouse and Mike Dunn serving as pallbearers. Katie is survived by two daughters, Patsy (Lester) Smith of Water Valley, MS and Melissa (Richard) Willhite of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Larry (Marcia) Sprouse of Water Valley, MS, Robert Wayne Sprouse of Taylor, MS and William Lynn Sprouse of Southaven, MS; her sister, Pearl Dollar and her brother, Kuron Turner both of Lepanto, AR; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Sprouse. | ||||
