Elizabeth Hardy Camp Obituary - Water Valley MS

Mary Elizabeth Hardy Camp, age 92, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born March 6, 1922 in Water Valley, MS to the late Griffin G. and Lena Carr Hardy. Elizabeth graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Water Valley, MS where she is remembered for her outstanding athletic ability as a basketball player. After graduating high school she married William Louie Camp and together they owned and operated Camp Motor Company, where she retired as office manager and bookkeeper. Elizabeth was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family and others. Until her health failed she was a faithful member of the Water Valley Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Marvelene Camp McCullar of Senatobia, MS; two sons, William Griffin Camp of Jackson, TN and Bobby Louie Camp of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Dot Forsyth, Nancy Wooten and Julia Thompson all of Water Valley, MS; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Louie Camp and her brother, Jack Hardy.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Pine Valley School House Fund, 940 County Road 100, Water Valley, MS 38965.
