Mary A. (Armstrong) Conlan, 96, of New Bedford died Sunday November 16, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Conlan.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Mary (O'Neill) Armstrong, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a daily communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Conlan was formerly employed as a secretary for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare until her retirement.
She was a former member of the Holy Name - Sacred Heart Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen M. Morris of New Bedford; a sister, Mildred Campbell of Michigan; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eileen, Joseph, and Brian Morris; five great-grandchildren, Jayton, Jonathan, Asryana, Owen, and Annalise; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Edward Armstrong, John Armstrong, William Armstrong, Catherine McAvoy, Lillian Manning, and Louise Loewe.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM.
