CARR, Paul J. Sr. of Kingston formerly of West Roxbury, surrounded by his loving family on November 5, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Lois A. (Carty). Loving Dad of Paul Carr, Jr. and his wife Judy of Milton, John “Jack” Carr and his wife Dawn of Plymouth and Julie Martell and her husband Joe of Kingston. Devoted “Papa” of Joseph, David and Laura Martell, Paul J. Carr, III, Daniel, Ryann Elizabeth, Lisa Marie, Aidan Carr and the late Brendan J. Carr. He was the son of the late John B. and Loretta (Cronin). Brother of the late John B. Carr, Jr., Rev. William F. Carr, S.J. and Kathleen Smith. Brother-in-law of the late Sheldon H. Carty, Jr. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Monday, November 10th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Paul was a Navy Combat Veteran of World War II where he served on LCI 753 as a Quartermaster First Class in the South West Pacific Theater. Paul was the recipient of WWII Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon with 3 stars, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 star. He worked for 37 years at the Metropolitan District Commission, then the South Boston Postal Annex for 15 years. He was a call Firefighter for the Town of Winthrop. His final job was at Roche Bros. in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paul’s name to www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org or www.breastcancersociety.org.
