Obituary

WORCESTER-Robert E. Girard, 72, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, November 4 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Clare F. (Ryan) Girard; three step-children, Susan and her husband, Ret. Col. Joseph Callahan of Roslindale Paul R. Dupre of Leicester; and Helen Brodin of Holden; ten step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; a sister, April Girard of Maryland; three nieces; a nephew; and Kathleen Reardon of Worcester, who was like a daughter to Bob. A half-brother, Paul Johnson predeceased him. He was born in Worcester son of Ernest Girard and raised by his mother Ethel (Hayes) Johnson and step-father John Johnson and graduated from Commerce High School.
Bob worked for Laidlaw Bus Company prior to that her worked for, Buduo trucking, Local # 170, owned his own yellow cab, did security for RJF Security-Special Police and was the manager of the former Homer J. Wheaton Post. He was a member of the Blue Knights and active in the CB 10-20 club and volunteered and was chairperson at the Jerry Lewis Telethon when it was held in Worcester.
The Funeral will be held Friday, November 7 from CALLAHAN~FAY AND CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 9:00 AM in Saint John’s Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours are Thursday, November 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Health Care-Hospice Program, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609.
