Obituary

WORCESTER-Lori J. (Devine) Nelson, 59, of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, November 2 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her long time best friend and beloved husband of 17 years, Mark Nelson; her mother, Joyce E. (Rabideau) Devine of Northampton; a step-son, Jeremy Nelson and his wife Amy of Bridgewater; a step-daughter, Heather Spano and her husband Pasquale of Bridgewater; and three grandchildren, Isabella, Matthew and Jack.



Lori is pre-deceased by her brother Richard A. Devine who died June 5th, 2014. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Linda Devine of Florence their children, Jonathan Devine, Lisa Coughlin and Lisa’s husband Steve Coughlin. She will be deeply missed by all including her sister Jody Harris of Hadley, her three children Erica Hunter, Zachary Hunter and Cienna Harris; her brother Jeremy Devine of Worcester; her uncle Philip Valley of Manchester, New Hampshire as well as many nieces and nephews, in laws, close friends and neighbors.



She was born in Northampton, Mass. July 24th, 1955, daughter of Richard and Joyce Devine and graduated from Northampton High School. Lori was most recently a business development manager at both Verizon and One Communications before retiring. ”Auntie Lori” had great love for the children in her life. She was a kind and generous woman with an amazing sense of humor and great wit who loved and advocated for all animals.

Visiting Hours are Wednesday, November 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at CALLAHAN~FAY and CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 6, at 10:00 AM in Saint John's Church, 40 Temple Street. Please go directly to church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MSPCA Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, 02130.
