West Boylston-
Stephen P. Derrah, 60, of West Boylston died Saturday, November 1 in UMASS Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Mary A. (Pasquale) Derrah; three children, Matthew P. Derrah and Mark S. Derrah both of West Boylston and Faith M. Derrah of Conway, SC; two brothers, Charles A. Derrah and Christopher J. Derrah both of West Boylston and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Donna M. Derrah predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Donald C. and Stephanie T. (Kobis) Derrah and graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute.
Stephen was a manufacturer in the grinding wheel division of Norton Company, now Saint-Gobain Company for 34 years, before retiring. He enjoyed golfing and loved cooking and gardening.
A Funeral will be held Friday, November 7 from Fay Brothers Funeral Home with a Mass at 10:00am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Thursday, November 6 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Oncology Department at UMass c/o of UMass Medicine Development Office, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, 01545.
