Mercedes M. Masonoff, 24, of New Bedford passed away on October 26, 2014. She was the daughter the late Venus M. Chumack and the late Christopher Masonoff . Mercedes is survived by her two children Ava Snow, 5 years old, and Aaliyah Snow, 2 years old, as well as her siblings Justin Chumack, Amanda Paige, Christopher Masonoff Jr., and Justin Cacilhas, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. I would love to list aunts and uncles but it would take up a chapter in a book to do that so here are a few aunts and uncles, starting with aunts Toni Souliere, Terry Thompson, Eileen Chumack, Urana Chumack, Crystal Chumack. And now the uncles Michael MacDonald and Andre Chumack. Now a few cousins Leeah Chumack, David Souliere, Tasha Michaud, Shane Michaud, Krista Dinette, Brett Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Asjia Rossetti just to name a few. This is a huge family.
Mercedes was loved by so many and I am heavy hearted writing this. She loved her mother and her brother Justin Chumack. She recently met her siblings from New York, Amanda Paige and Justin Cacilhas. She never really talked about Christopher Jr. She loved her two children Ava Snow and Aliah Snow. The children's father Dean Snow is a great man and I am proud to call him family as he will always be my nephew because he loved her and loves those kids and does the best he can for them. He loved Mercedes very much but each relationship has its breaking point. Mercedes use to love the trips that she took to Florida to visit her grandmother when she was a little girl. She loved the beach, as well as tattoos.
I also had the chance to meet Jason Drake, Mercedes’s boyfriend, whom she was living with when she passed. He is a great person as well. I only wish I had the chance to meet him under better conditions. I am ending this with one thing I want to say.
Don’t let another minute go by without telling the people that you love that you love them. Life has a way of taking that away from you at a moment’s notice. So I just want to say I LOVE YOU ALL!! Love, Uncle Mike.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 1, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Following cremation, she will be buried with her mother Venus at Pine Grove Cemetery.
