Charles Soforenko, 88, of New Bedford died October 27, 2014 at home.
He was the husband of Evadney R. (Rose) Almeida Soforenko and the late Vilma (Laurans) Soforenko.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Herbert L. and Matilda G. (Schnuer) Soforenko, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Soforenko was formerly employed by Shepard Clothing for many years.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1943 and he maintained a close relationship with many of his classmates. Mr. Soforenko enjoyed painting, Big Band music, reading, scrabble, travel and teaching computer class at Casa da Saudade Library.
Survivors include his wife; 2 stepsons, Sean Almeida of New Bedford and Stephen Almeida of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
His Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 10 AM in Ahavath Achim Cemetery, New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Casa da Saudade Library 58 Crapo St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
