Peggy Joy Tutor Hogan Obituary - Water Valley MS

Peggy Joy Tutor Hogan, age 73, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at her home in Water Valley, MS. She was born November 2, 1940 in Memphis, TN to the late Frank Arnous Tutor and Johnnie Lee Martin Tutor. Peggy graduated from Southside High School in Memphis, TN and was known for her outstanding skill as a baton twirler in the marching band. She worked as the Social Activities Director for Yalobusha Nursing Home until her retirement. Peggy was a fun-loving, happy person who loved traveling, being around people and enjoying life to the fullest. She was a faithful member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Ladies Outreach Ministry, and dearly loved her church family. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. David Roberson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with David Wallis, Larry Sprouse, Billy Melton, Chris Wall, Frank Dunn, Mike Dunn, Sam Dunn and Greg Terrell serving as pallbearers. Frank Hall will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Dana (Mike) Irwin of Water Valley, MS; her son, Marty Baldridge of Jackson, MS; her brother, Terry Tutor of Olive Branch, MS; three grandchildren, Amanda Martin, Shannon Ivy and Kendall Irwin; six great-grandchildren, Alex Martin, Frank Beeler, Jamison Gambino, Hannah Story, Annabella Ware, and Sarah-Brooke Ivy; one niece, Sara Tutor; two nephews, Austin Tutor and Nick Tutor; a host of friends and neighbors who loved her; and a special thank you to her best friend, Betty Melton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Hogan.
