William Edward McCammon Obituary - Water Valley MS

William Edward McCammon, age 80, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born February 14, 1934 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Richard Thomas and Alma Lorene Redwine McCammon. He worked most of his life in the construction business and enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. William also enjoyed fishing, traveling and farming and was a faithful member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Calhoun County, MS.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Calhoun County, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Fitts officiating. Burial will be in the Turkey Creek Church Cemetery with Jamie McCammon II, Jonathan McCammon, Chris McCammon, Eddie McCammon, Justin McCammon and Craig Goodwin serving as pallbearers. Bobby Goodwin and Jim Brogden will serve as honorary pallbearers.

William is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Head McCammon of Water Valley, MS; his daughter, Alma (Bobby) Goodwin of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Jamie (Shirley) McCammon, Mike (Glenda) McCammon and Eddie (Trish) McCammon all of Water Valley, MS; four sisters, Maybelle Fisk of Grenada, MS, Louise Potts of Hickory Flat, MS, Vivian Washington of Pontotoc, MS and Minnie (Jim) Brogden of Bartlett, TN; four brothers, Thomas (Barbara) McCammon of Bruce, MS, Elton (Margie Sue) McCammon of Coffeeville, MS, Cecil (Gaye) Edwards "McCammon" of Houston, MS and Jimmy (Dianne) Luther "McCammon" of Houlka, MS; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his son, Clay McCammon and his brother, Tip McCammon.
