In Taunton, October 17, 2014 Rita Alves, Age 92, passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness. Rita was born in Fogo, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Pedro Alves & Maria (Barros) Alves. Rita has resided in Taunton since 1982. She was a housewife and enjoyed watching tv, listening to music, cooking and cherished her time with family. Rita is survived by her son Allen Alves of Brockton, her care giver and daughter in law Maria Alves of Taunton, grandchildren Jeffrey, Jason and Jaylee Alves all of Taunton and great granddaughters Jade and Skyla. Funeral home visiting hours will be on Thursday, October 23rd from 9-10:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 am. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
