James Harvey Donnell, Jr. Obituary - Water Valley MS

James Harvey Donnell, Jr., age 94, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born November 11, 1919 in Pinola, MS to the late James Harvey, Sr. and Eula Clower Donnell. James served as an airplane and engine mechanic in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Hendricks' Machine Shop in Water Valley, MS where he worked as an auto mechanic. James was a faithful member of North Main Street Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and was a kind and gentle man who loved everyone, always helping those in need. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Raymond Aven and Bro. Doug Pepper officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Kenny Walls, Ryan Hill, Eric Stacy, Tony Walls, Robert Mitchell and Lee Mitchell serving as pallbearers.

James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Elizabeth Groner Donnell of Water Valley, MS; his daughter, Patricia (James) Stacy of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Jimmy (Nancy) Walls of Abbeville, MS and George (Mary Ann) Walls of Vicksburg, MS; seven grandchildren, Alicia Bond, Eric Stacy, Kenny Walls, Jamie Walls, Tony Walls, Becky McLaughlin and Diane Walls; twenty-five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
