Dorothy "Dot" Rebecca Bruce mclaughlin Obituary - Water Valley MS

Dorothy “Dot” Rebecca Bruce Terry, age 85, entered into eternal peace Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS. She was born in Etta, MS on November 26, 1928 to the late Walter Frank and Faye Kitty Bruce. Dot was employed for many years as a secretary for the Water Valley Chamber of Commerce and later worked for the MS Department of Human Services in Water Valley. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church and devoted to serving the Lord. Dot enjoyed working in her yard and refinishing old furniture, but her passion was cooking Sunday dinners for her family and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Father Don Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Brad Terry, Chris Terry, Layth Terry, Ike Leeton, Bill Boydston, and Wally Bruce serving as pallbearers.

Dot is survived by her sons, Johnny Terry and Randy (Gina) Terry, both of Water Valley, MS; her sister, Barbara Leeton (Dwight) of Water Valley, MS; her brother, Wayne (Linda) Bruce of Texarkana, TX; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. T. Terry; her two brothers, Wilburn Bruce and Bill Bruce.
