WORCESTER-Ana Mercedes Davila, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at UMass Memorial Hospital.
She leaves her son, Juan Manuel Ayala, Sr of Worcester; her daughter Virgen Luz Chevez of New York; three grandchildren, Porfirio Lopez, Jr. of New York, Beatriz Ayala of Worcester and Juan Manuel Ayala, Jr. of Worcester; and a great granddaughter, Bryanna Lee Ayala.
Mrs. Davila was born in Puerto Rico, daughter of Manuel Davila and Juana Garcia. She moved to Manhattan, NY in 1969 where she resided until moving to Worcester in 2003. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and played a special role in the lives of her grandchildren. They will miss her dearly, especially her youngest grandson Juan, Jr., for he had the honor of being with her when she passed from this life into eternal peace. He will cherish that moment forever.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 9 at CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street. A Funeral Service will be held during that time at 6:00 pm.
