Noah DeWayne Smith, age 17, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born February 4, 1997 in New Albany, MS to Jennifer Westmoreland and Corey Smith. Noah was a senior at Water Valley High School and worked part-time at Larson’s Piggly Wiggly. He was an artist and loved to draw and paint. Noah enjoyed playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker and loved the Lord with all his heart, spending much of his time witnessing to others about Jesus. He was formerly a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church where he was baptized, but later moved his membership to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Oxford, MS.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. David Ross and Bishop Nick Shields officiating. Burial will be in the McMinn Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Kaleb Shook, Spenser Porter, Dalen Errington, Nicholas Forrester, Cody Forrester and Nick Williams serving as pallbearers. Greg Langham and Caleb Carson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Noah is survived by his mother, Jennifer Skelton Westmoreland and his step-father, Chris Westmoreland of Water Valley, MS;his father, Corey Smith of Brandon, MS; his sisters, Summer Westmoreland and Meagan Westmoreland both of Water Valley, MS; his brother, Hunter Westmoreland of Water Valley, MS; his grandparents, Larry and Sandra Hipps of Taylor, MS, Stanley Skelton of Lake Center, MS, Patricia Westmoreland of Oxford, MS, Laticia Lawson of Oxford, MS, Glenn and Nancy Smith of Oxford, MS.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandfather, Herman Westmoreland.
