MILLBURY-Calvin W. Bergstrom, 78, of Millbury, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014. He leaves his wife Reta C. (Johnson) Bergstrom; a daughter Paula L. Tabor and her husband Kenneth of Westfield; two grandsons, Brett A. Tabor and his wife Autumn of Westfield and Trevor K. Tabor of East Setauket, NY; and a great granddaughter Madison Tabor of Westfield. Cal also leaves several cousins, including Cynthia Safstram of Rutland.
He was born in Worcester, son of C. Walter and Charlotte (Piskator) Bergstrom and graduated from Commerce High School. Cal worked for Norton Company for 45 years, retiring as head manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department. He was a longtime member of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Morning Star Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, Aleppo Temple and Worcester Shriners Club. Cal was a long time member and officer of the Worcester Surfcasting Club, and he looked forward to his weekends and vacations at the railroad bridge on the Cape Cod Canal.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 29 from 4-7 pm at CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 30 at Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at All Faith's Cemetery.
