MacKinnon, Patricia “Pat” (Leary) of Sharon, formerly of West Roxbury entered into eternal life on September 22, 2014 at 84 years old leaving her loving and devoted husband and best friend of 60 years, Robert “Bob” S. MacKinnon “Grumpy”. She will always be loved and deeply missed by her 10 children, Kathy Foley of Roslindale, Jim MacKinnon and his wife Deb of Newbury, Pat Roth of Sharon, Joan Gainey and her husband Tom of Holbrook, Roberta “Bobbi” McCarron of Nashua, NH, Mary Sheehan and husband Rob of West Roxbury, Michael MacKinnon and his wife Susan Marie of Easton, Karen Straehle and her husband Mike of Norwood, Joseph MacKinnon and his wife Leslie of Hyannis and John “Jake” MacKinnon of Hyde Park. With a legacy of love, she also leaves 29 grandchildren, Gerard, Christopher, Michael, Andrew and Laura Roth, Maggie Savickas, Stevie, Kerryann and Patsy Foley, Tom “Buddy”, Bob, Kate, JJ and Mary Gainey, Terence, Bobby, Danny McCarron and Kristin McManus, Brian, Eric and Mark Sheehan, Eric and Rene MacKinnon, Rachael and Allison Straehle, Jimmy and Emily MacKinnon, Dougie and Justin Vaillancourt. In addition, her most precious gifts to our world were her 12 great grandchildren, Keara and Haley MacKinnon, Alaina and Julia McManus, Grace Savickas, Stevie “little man” Foley, Evelyn, James and Brianna Roth, Xavier and Elijah McCarron and Sophia Vaillancourt along with her extra great person in her life, Jackson who she cherished as much as her own. Pat grew up in the Boston area and lived most of her life in West Roxbury before retiring in Sharon, MA. She graduated from Girls Latin School in 1948 and Emmanuel College in the class of 1952. She leaves our world a much better place having taught all of us how to share our love with others and that there is always room for one more at any table. She was a wonderful sister to Joan Mahoney of Quincy, Nancy Fernberg of Dedham, the late Joyce Bruning of Randolph and Abington and the late Connie Reddish of Weymouth. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Leary. Countless nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends will always count Aunt Pat as a special gift in their lives. To all, we are sure she would say, Good night and God Bless! Visiting hours will be held at Gormley’s Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street in West Roxbury on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 11:30 am on Friday, September 26, 2014 with her burial immediately following at the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in her memory, please donate to St. Jude Hospital, Operation Smile or to a charity of your choice.
