In Taunton, September 21, 2014 Richard P. Silvia Age 77, passed away in Marian Manor Nursing Home following a brief period of declining health. Richard was born in North Dighton, the son of the late Frank & Mary (Baptista) Silvia. Richard has resided in Dighton all his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed as a truck driver for McCabe Sand & Gravel Co. in Taunton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle the Patriots and holding court in his garage with his friends. Richard was preceded in death by his siblings George P., Frank P. Silvia and Nancy Cormier. He leaves his sister in law Birute T. Silvia of Brockton, his nieces and nephews and his close friend John DeLeo and family. A grave side service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24th at 9 am. In St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Visiting hours are kindly omitted.
