Obituary

In Fall River, September 19, 2014 Lillian M. Murphy Age 84, passed away in St. Ann’s Hospital following a brief illness while surrounded by her loving family. Lillian was the wife of the late Charles T. Murphy. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Joaquin & Harriet (Dyer) DaRosa. Lillian was a Taunton resident most of her life. She attended both Boston and Taunton schools and following high school attended nursing school where she received her LPN license. Lillian worked at the former Paul E. Dever State School in Taunton as a LPN. She enjoyed trips to the casinos, camping, and playing bingo and cherished her time with family. Lillian also found it fulfillment in her volunteer work, helping the elderly and the Lions Club in Raynham where she was an active member. Lillian is survived by her children Robert Murphy and his wife Filomena of Taunton, Paul Murphy of New Bedford and her late son Charles T. Murphy. She was preceded in death by her siblings Carol Smith, Kathy Amaral, Eleanor Rosenberg, Dolly Leonard, Gene DaRosa and Jack DaRosa. Lillian also leaves her loving eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Thursday, Sept. 25th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds. From 5-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Raynham Lions Club, P.O. Box 100, 2234 King Philip St., Raynham, MA 02768.
