Catherine C. (Crowe) Sullivan, 87, of New Bedford passed away Monday September 8, 2014 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Sullivan.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Michael J. and Frances (Thorne) Crowe, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Sullivan was formerly employed by Morse Cutting Tools, Acushnet Company, and Guido's Plate Glass until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and Kinyon Business School.
She was an awesome cook who loved preparing meals for her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her sister and going out to lunch with the girls. She especially loved spending time with her three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, who were the loves of her life.
She is survived by her loving children, Michael G. Sullivan and his wife Lynne, Mark P. Sullivan and his wife Nancy, and Erin J. Sylvia and her husband Glenn, all of New Bedford; her siblings, Michael J. Crowe II and his wife Margaret of Mattapoisett, Theresa Dwyer and her husband Richard of Naples, FL, and Gertrude Coucci and her husband Paul of New Bedford; her brothers-in-law, Donald Sullivan and his wife Doris, and Charles Coudert; seven grandchildren, Kelley Balestracci, Katelyn Sullivan, Christie Gardner, Nicholas Sullivan, Tricia Sullivan, Tyler Sylvia, and Shelby Sullivan; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Ferguson, Clara Lawton, and Margaret McDowell.
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM.
