Dorothy R. (Gladu) Smith, 90, of New Bedford died September 7, 2014 peacefully at Alden Court Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Francis B. Smith.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Hazel (Cheetham) Gladu, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Smith was formerly employed by Saltmarsh's in the toy department for 35 years until retirement.
She enjoyed crafts and travel.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth Gladu of Crescent City, CA; her beloved niece and caregiver, Patricia Muldoon and her husband Thomas and their son Patrick, all of Mattapoisett; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Theodore Gladu, Russell Gladu, Richard Gladu, George Gladu, Lillian Hill, Anita Sylvia, Marion Larsen and Beatrice Larsen.
