In Taunton, August 13, 2014 Joseph R. Mardo husband of the late Thecla (Sadeck) Mardo died at Taunton Nursing Home at the age of 98. Born in Central Falls, RI, Joseph was the son of the late Elias and Jelila (Barruty) Mardo. Joseph was educated in Rhode Island Schools and was a retired veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, skiing and bike riding. He was the father of Barbara Mardo of Taunton and the late Joseph Mardo. Father in-law of Lorraine Mardo of Wareham. Grandfather of Christine Sierra of Easton, Stephanie Consigli of Hopkington and Joseph Mardo of Rochester. Great Grandfather of Anna and Max Sierra of Easton. Brother of Raymond Mardo of Little Falls, NJ, Annie Sadeck of Westport, Eva Robat of No. Providence, RI, Anthony Mardo of Warwick, RI, Antoinette Cushman of Cranston, RI, Beatrice Mischler of Warwick, RI and the late Edward Mardo, George Mardo, Michael Mardo, Alphonse Mardo and Josephine Robat. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Saturday, August 16th from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. A Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church in Taunton at 10 AM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
