O’Neil, William E. August 3, 2014. Age 87. Mr. O’Neil was a resident of Westwood, MA and Naples, Florida. Beloved husband of Marie T. (Sullivan) O’Neil with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Mr. O’Neil is survived by his five children, Maura E. O’Neil-Harris of Wellesley, Patricia A. O’Riordan of Waterville Valley, NH, Kathleen A. O’Neil-Baker of Marblehead, MA, Ellen O. Bambara of Stowe, VT and William E. O’Neil, Jr. of Norfolk, MA and their spouses Roy Harris, Martin O’Riordan, George Bambara and Sheila Murphy O’Neil. Mr. O’Neil will be missed by his nine grandchildren, Brendan O’Riordan, Army Specialist Ryan John O’Riordan, Anthony Paul Bambara, Jonathan T. Baker, Carly Anne Baker, William E. O’Neil, III, Christopher O’Neil, Stephen O’Neil and Katherine O’Neil. Mr. O’Neil is survived by his sister Barbara McKay of Dedham, MA. Mr. O’Neil was the son of the late Edward O’Neil and Anna (Sullivan) O’Neil. Mr. O’Neil was a prominent Real Estate Attorney. Mr. O’Neil was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and received his Juris Doctor degree at Boston College School of Law, and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1961. Mr. O’Neil proudly served in the United States 2nd Infantry Division 9th Regiment Fox Company Army during the Korean War from 1951-1957. He was a lifetime member of Manchu.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood, MA. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Off Connery Avenue, Bourne, Massachusetts at 1:45 p.m.
