Donald A. Lavoie, 59, of New Bedford died July 18, 2014 unexpectedly at home.
Born in New Bedford, the son of George B. Lavoie of New Bedford and the late Jeannette M. (Blais) Lavoie, he lived in Fairhaven and New Bedford all of his life.
Donald was formerly employed as an electrical supervisor at Baker Brothers Engineering in Stoughton.
He enjoyed cooking, cars and handyman work.
Survivors include his father; 2 daughters, Lori-Ane Lavoie and Melissa Lavoie Westgate and her husband Gary, all of New Bedford; a son, Talon Lavoie of Dartmouth; his former wife, Danielle (Martin) Barksdale of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Dakarya J.S. "Princess" Lavoie, Carter "Big Boy" Westgate and James Westgate; a brother and sister; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, July 21st from 4-8 PM.
