In Taunton, April 17, 2013 Robert A. Dion, Age 86 passed away in Longmeadow Nursing Home unexpectedly. Robert was born in Taunton, the son of the late George & Helen (Corr) Dion. He lived all of his life in Taunton. Robert was educated in Taunton schools and later served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed at the former Paul E. Dever State School working as a manager in the food service Department. Robert was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Taunton,the American Legion and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Cape Cod Baseball League games. Robert is survived by his brother George Dion and his wife M. Carol Dion of Taunton and his late sister Dorothy Dion and late half brother David Sibor. He leaves his late and longtime friend Julie Phillips of Taunton. He also leaves his former wife Helen Dion of Oxford, FL. Robert is survived by his four nieces Mary E. Doyle of Weymouth, Catherine H. Eddlem of Taunton, Susan A. Turgeon of Cranberry Township, PA and Patricia D. Parent of Taunton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 21st at 11 am. in the Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton. Burial is private at the request of the family at the Bourne National Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
