GAINESVILLE, FL - Marion (Roos) Tripp, daughter of the late Mary and Louis A. Roos, and widow of Fred Ricketson Tripp, passed away on January 6, 2010, in Gainesville, Florida at the age of 100.
Born in New Bedford on August 23, 1909, she lived in Fairhaven, North Dighton and was a resident of South Dartmouth for forty seven years before moving to Gainesville. Marion was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and was former secretary to the Superintendant of Schools in Fairhaven.
An active member of the Congregational Church in Padanaram, she was a member of the Old Dartmouth Historical Society and the Rotch Jones Duff House and Garden Museum.
Survivors are her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Braun and her husband, R. Kenneth of Gainesville, Fla.; her son, Fred R. Tripp and his wife, Nancy of Barrington, R.I. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey D. Braun of Fort Mill, S.C., Gail L. Piazza of Eustis, Fla., Mark A. Braun of Memphis, Tn., Christopher K. Braun of Mt. Dora, Fla., Scott F. Braun of Orlando, Fla., Peter E. Tripp of New York, N.Y., Sara E. Boye of Devon, Pa.; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Frances F. Rogers of Harwichport, Ma.; and her brother, Walter L. Roos of Palm Springs, Ca.
