Auburn – Betty J. (Hobson) Johnson, 77, of Auburn died on Tuesday March 13, in the Saint Vincent Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 59 years Harold Johnson of Auburn; a son William H. Johnson of Holden; three daughters Susan E. Millett and her husband Daniel and Nancy E. Naoum and her husband Steven both of Worcester and Lynda J. Rogers of Auburn; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a niece and a nephew. Mrs. Johnson was born in Worcester daughter of William and Edith (Eaton) Hobson and graduated from South High School.
She worked for over 25 years as a clerk at the former Mart on Main St. and in later years worked for the Worcester Public Schools as a crossing guard at Rice Square.
Mrs. Johnson was an officer, active member and past president of the Worcester – Auburn Emblem Club #51. She was also a member of Greendale Peoples Church and enjoyed knitting and taking trips to Maine.
The funeral will be held at 10 AM in Greendale Peoples Church 25 Francis St. Worcester on Friday, March 16. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester on Thursday, March 15. The Worcester – Auburn Emblem Club #51 will perform a ritual at 7 PM during the calling hours.
