She was born in Lowell on April 2, 1955, and was a daughter of Edward M. and Mary M. (Beakey) Guziejka. She received her early education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Andover High School, class of 1972. She graduated from New England College in Henniker with Magna Cum Laude honors.
Mrs. Guziejka, was employed as a substance abuse counselor for at risk children by Antrim Girls Shelter in Antrim, NH.
An active environmentalist, she was involved in the State Cooperative Regional Agricultural Plan (SCRAP), and was a certified agricultural technician for the state of New Hampshire. She was also a volunteer for the New Hampshire Audobon Society focusing on acid rain, and campaigned for many environmental causes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Eric Guziejka and his wife Kelly of Austin, Texas: a sister and brother-in-law Amy Guziejka Sawyer and her husband David Sawyer of Winchester; four nieces and nephews, Kimberly and Michael Guziejka of Austin, TX, and Emma and Michael Sawyer of Winchester; her mother-in-law Constance Pirrota of FL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Elmer Thompson.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Tuesday from 6 until 8pm with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street, N.W. , P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180.
