Timothy W. "Brother" Mahoney Jr., a 15 year resident of Roslindale and former longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, May 2, 2014 at his home in Roslindale. He was 76 years old.
"Brother" was born in Boston on November 7, 1937, a son of the late Timothy W. Mahoney and Mary C. (Collins) Mahoney. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. "Brother" received his license as a First Class Fireman and worked for many years at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston with their boiler system and at Harvard University in Cambridge as a custodian. Recently, he was working for Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston as a Security Officer.
"Brother" is the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Kupstas) Mahoney. He is the beloved step-father of Lisa Kupstas of Roslindale and grandfather of Edward. He is the devoted brother of Mary Pantone of Charlestown, William Mahoney of Charlestown, Rita Mahoney of Melrose, John Mahoney of Charlestown and the late Joseph "Moe" Mahoney and his surviving wife Rita Mahoney of Charlestown. He is the loving uncle to Marie, Anthony and Joseph Pantone, Joseph, Rita and Matthew Mahoney and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Timothy's Funeral on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Pine Haven Cemetery in Burlington. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
