Frederick D. Tripp, Jr., 84 of Westport died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Dorothy (Davis) Tripp.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Frederick D. and Alice (Cook) Tripp, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Mr. Tripp was a Unites States Navy veteran. Prior to retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4 of Boston where he was a 50 year member in good standing.
Survivors include a son: Jeffrey D. Tripp of Marion; a daughter: Pamela T. Brewster of Westport; a brother: Kendal D. Tripp and his partner Karen Carreiro of Westport; a grandson: Alexander L. Brewster of Westport; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Janice.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
