Obituary

Thomas T. O’Neil, 64, of Hampton, NH died October 31, 2011 at the Exeter Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on November 5, 1946, he was the son of Hugh R. and Catherine (Thornton) O’Neil. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College. He served in the US Army National Guard.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the State of NH in the Department of Labor. Previously, he had worked many years as an independent insurance agent.
Tom will be remembered as an outgoing, fun-loving person. He loved being with family and friends and was proud of his Irish heritage. During the summer months, Tom enjoyed the time he spent with his friends at the trailer park at Hampton Beach.
He loved golfing and was a longtime member of the Derryfield Country Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, William J. Shanahan Division I, and the Raphael Club.
Family members include his two daughters, Beth O’Neil of Plymouth, VT and Anne O’Neil of Burlington, VT; his former wife, Joan O'Neil of Auburn; one sister, Mary Alice Venuto and her husband Lou of Potomac, MD and Cape Neddick, ME; one brother, Hugh “Dewey” O’Neil and his wife Joan (Thornton) O’Neil of Bedford; nieces, Erin Hendrick and husband Greg of Newton, MA, Kate Delaney and husband Kevin of Chicago; nephews, DJ O’Neil and wife Renee of San Francisco, Michael O’Neil of Lebanon; six great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, November 5, 2011 in St. Joseph Cathedral.
