Dear Donna & David, we grew up together on Aldrich St. Ginny Donnelly told me today of Joan's passing. Joan was my first "best friend". Wonderful early memories of growing up with her playing on the Parkway, with our dolls, and many sleep-overs. She was shy, Shirley-Temple pretty, and always kind. I am sorry for your loss and send you heartfelt condolences. Carol McCusker

My heart is full of sadness and the most precious of childhood memories when I remember growing up with Joan. We were true girlfriends. She knew all me secrets and kept them. We shared the joys and dramas of being young teens and navigating our "coming of age". We had a poem we loved and sang it together often. "Make new friends and keep, the old,One is silver and the other gold" Joan was a golden friend. My sympathies to all of you .
