Obituary

SHREWSBURY – Marguerite R. (St George) Gaumond DelBello, 97, a resident of Southgate in Shrewsbury and Stuart, FL, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Beaumont Rehab Center, Worcester. Her first husband of 46 years, Patrick H. Gaumond, died in 1979. Her second husband of 8 years, Dr. Louis DelBello, died in 1990.

She leaves a son, Dr. Roger P. Gaumond of Havre de Grace, MD; a daughter, Patricia A. (Gaumond) Kasierski and her husband George O. Kasierski of Dennis; 2 grandchildren, Stephen G. Kasierski of Berkeley, CA, and Scott P. Kasierski and his wife Cathy Kanaday of Jacksonville, FL; 2 great grandchildren, Thomas and Trish Kasierski; 3 step children, Dennis DelBello, Douglas DelBello and Diane Dilendik and their families; nieces and nephews; and 2 dedicated caregivers, Pat Cormier and Annette Christenson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard St George, by her 2 sisters, Marie Jeanne (St George) Faford and Antoinette (St George) Hebert Blanchard, and by her daughter-in-law, Ann C. (Kwiecinski) Gaumond.

She was born and raised in Dudley, the youngest daughter of Oscar and Rose Alba (Lachance) St George, and lived in Dudley for many years. After retiring, she lived at Webster Lake in the summer and in Stuart, FL in the winter. She moved to Shrewsbury in 1999. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1931 and participated in annual class reunions until recently.

Along with her husband Patrick, she owned and operated St George’s Flower Shop in Dudley from 1946 to 1968, a business established by her parents in 1928. She was often a guest designer at various floral schools sponsored by the F.T.D.

She was a life member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster, and a member of its Ladies of Saint Anne. She enjoyed flowers, painting, music and dancing as well as playing bocci at Southgate, golfing in Florida, and summers on Webster Lake.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, December 21, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. A calling period will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 21, in the funeral home.
