Obituary

WEBSTER – Francis G. “Jack” Lloyd, Jr., 76, of Blackpoint Road, died Friday, October 15, in Parsons Hill Nursing Home, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves a daughter, Jacqueline M. Lloyd of Webster; a sister, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Leicester; a granddaughter Amanda; 3 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His wife, Yvette M. (Richard) Lloyd, died in 2003. His son, Stephen F. Lloyd, died in 2006.

He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Francis G. Lloyd, Sr. and Mary (Carragher) Lloyd. He lived in Webster for about 20 years before moving to Newport Ritchie, FL in 1988; he returned to Webster last year.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Lloyd was a patrolman on the Webster Police Department for over 20 years before he moved to Florida. He was a former member and past president of the Webster Fraternal Order of Police. He was also a former member of the Webster Lodge of Elks.

He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles most of his adult life. He enjoyed singing Karaoke with his daughter.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 25, at noon in Mount Zion Cemetery, Old Worcester Road, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform the military honors. There are no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, 55 Worcester Road, Webster, MA 01570. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
