Josephine E. (Pearce) Cavaca, 97, of Tiverton died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Heatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newport after a lengthy illness. She was wife of the late Frank Cavaca.
Born in Tiverton, daughter of the late James W. and Nellie E. (Burns) Pearce, she was a lifelong resident of Tiverton. Mrs. Cavaca was a member of the First Baptist Old Stone Church in Tiverton. An avid reader, she enjoyed doll making, sewing, cooking, baking and playing solitaire.
Survivors include a son: James L. Cavaca of Tiverton; 8 daughters: Pearl Beaulieu of Tiverton, Gwendolyn Cavaca of Tiverton, Donna Smith of CA, Sherrill Furtado of Tiverton, Linda Langlais of Little Compton, Joan Almeida of Fairhaven, Faye Costa of Tiverton and Ann Lachapelle of Tiverton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Bruce A. Cavaca.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Old Stone Church, Tiverton at 10:00 A.M.
Burial to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
