Dearest Fran, family and friends, My heart and prayers go out to you during this tragic time. I hope your faith and memories lend you comfort. Bob Moore was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He was a good friend to my dad growing up in Ithaca in the parochial schools. They played basketball and were altar boys together. I loved hearing all of their stories. Bob shared great stories and wisdom at my parent's 50th anniversary. He was one of the last calls my dad took before he himself died. I will always remember Bob telling my dad to "keep the faith" and to look forward to seeing old friends who were waiting for him and that they would meet up again in heaven. Bob gave the eulogy at my dad's funeral. Bob continued to stay in our lives in the years that followed and walked my sister down the aisle in her wedding. The news of his untimely death will leave a great hole in our lives. I hope the many stories you hear from those who knew and loved him bring you some comfort. With a heavy heart, Judy

Fran and the entire Moore Family, Chris and my heart are broken. I asked your husband/ Dad to walk me down the isle at our wedding, in lieu of my father who had passed away. I remember telling him he was 'the closest I could come to my father.' Despite barely knowing me, he eloquently agreed. For years, I'd heard what an incredible man Bob was. He was my father's closest, dearest friend. I learned it myself at our wedding. Minutes before walking me down the isle, he pulled me aside and told me a totally bizarre story about nothing to do with anything! He later told me I was looking like a deer caught in the headlights and he was just trying to distract me! Every year on our anniversary, Bob has sent us the most wonderful email letters telling us to enjoy each other--with stories about him chasing around (current and past tense)his love, Fran. We look forward to them every year and enjoy reminiscing what a great addition he has been to the family! I can tell you, everyone in the Herson-Shelby Clan are heart-broken and our thoughts are deeply with you.
